Easton Police Department is looking for five officers to add to the force. That will account for retirements, plus three new roles focused on community patrol.
“This is our computer-automated dispatch,” said Easton Police Officer Chris Webb. “When someone calls 911, the call will be put up on the screen.”
Webb says he enjoys handling the variety of calls he answers in Easton.
“There’s a little bit of everything here,” said Webb.
“We’re a larger department for the area but small on a national scale,” said Easton Police Lt. Joe Alonzo.
Like departments across the country, EPD is looking for more manpower.
Last year, we tested and for us to test within the next year, that has never happened before. Usually, we have a long list of applicants, very qualified applicants and we had blown through the list fairly quickly,” said Alonzo.
